Chapter 1 – The Night He Lost Her

The road was empty.

Not a single soul in sight.

Heavy rain poured from the sky, as if the heavens themselves were mourning. Each drop hit the deserted path with rage, echoing the storm inside a broken heart.

A young man stood there, completely drenched, unmoving. His clothes clung to his body, but he felt nothing—neither the cold nor the pain of the rain. In his trembling hands was a bouquet of red roses, once filled with hope, love, and dreams of forever.

Suddenly, his grip loosened.

The bouquet slipped from his hands and fell lifelessly onto the wet ground. The roses scattered, their petals soaking in muddy water—just like his shattered dreams.

He stared at it for a few seconds… then slowly reached into his pocket.

A ring.

A simple ring, yet heavy with promises, expectations, and unspoken love.

His fingers trembled as he looked at it one last time.

Then, with a sharp movement, he threw it away—far into the darkness.

Tears rolled down his eyes, but the rain hid them mercilessly. No one could tell where the rain ended and his tears began.

He was broken. Completely shattered.

Yet, he stood there, forcing himself not to cry aloud—because crying was not something he was used to. Losing was not something he accepted easily.

And today… he had lost.

This broken-hearted man was Aman Mehra.

---

Aman’s thoughts

“Dil mein lagi chot dikha nahi sakta… 💔

Bhoolna bhi chaahun tumhe, bhula nahi sakta… 🥺

Tumhe paana chaha tha, par paa nahi sakta…” 😭

His chest felt heavy. His breath uneven.

“Main rona chahta hoon…

Aaj main bikhar gaya hoon…

Mera woh khoobsurat khwaab poora nahi hua…

Usse mera hona manzoor nahi…

Woh kisi aur ko chahti hai…” 💔🥺

---

Aman began walking.

Step by step… alone… letting the rain wash over him. Tears continued to fall, silently mixing with the rain, as he made his way home—on foot.

By the time he reached the Malhotra house, his condition shocked everyone.

---

At Home

Ahana rushed toward him the moment she saw him.

Ahana:

“What happened, bhai? Why did you come home walking in such heavy rain?”

Veer looked around, confused.

Veer:

“Where is your car?”

Aman stood there silently.

No expression.

No reaction.

Just emptiness in his eyes.

Ahana’s heart began to race.

Ahana:

“Bhai… did you propose to her?”

“What did she say?”

“Did she accept your love?”

Suddenly, tears escaped Aman’s eyes.

For a brief moment.

Ahana and Veer saw them.

But Aman quickly wiped his tears away. He had never cried in front of anyone. He had always been strong… always unbreakable.

But Ahana had noticed.

Ahana (softly):

“Brother… what did she say?”

Aman swallowed hard.

Aman:

“She rejected me.”

“She doesn’t love me…”

Veer tried to comfort him.

Veer:

“Never mind, Aman. Maybe one day she will love you too.”

Aman’s voice broke.

Aman:

“It won’t happen…” 💔

“She loves someone else.”

“I am not her love… someone else is.”

Ahana and Veer stood frozen.

Shock. Pain. Silence.

Ahana’s eyes filled with tears.

Ahana:

“It’s okay, bhai…”

“Maybe destiny has planned someone better for you.”

“You’ll find someone else.”

“Forget her…”

Aman shook his head slowly.

Aman:

“I can’t forget…”

Raghav stepped forward, his voice firm yet concerned.

Raghav:

“Should I talk to her parents?”

“They know us well. They will surely agree.”

Aman looked up immediately.

Aman:

“No, Dad.”

“Please don’t talk to them.”

“I don’t want to force her.”

Reva looked at him with pain-filled eyes.

Reva:

“Why, beta?”

Aman:

“She doesn’t love me… she loves someone else.”

“And I don’t want her to accept me under any pressure.”

Without another word, Aman turned and walked toward his room.

Ahana and Veer exchanged helpless glances.

Raghav and Reva watc

hed their son disappear, their hearts heavy.

---

Veer (softly):

“He was so excited to propose to her…”

Ahana (teary):

“I don’t know why she did this…”

“She rejected him… and broke his heart.” 💔
