Chapter - 8th A New Beginning, A Hidden Storm

The entire journey felt unbearably long.

Roshni sat silently beside Aman, her face turned towards the window, tears continuously slipping down her cheeks. The city lights blurred before her eyes, not because of speed—but because of her emotions. She had left her parents, her childhood, her old life behind… all in a single night.

Aman noticed everything.

Her trembling lips.

Her clenched fingers.

The quiet sobs she was trying so hard to hide.

Every tear of hers pierced his heart.

He wanted to pull her close, tell her she was safe now, that she was no longer alone. But he stopped himself. This was new for her. Too new. Too overwhelming.

Soon, the car stopped in front of the Mehra house.

Griha Pravesh – The First Step into a New Life

The house glowed with warm lights. A calm silence welcomed them.

Reva stood at the entrance with a gentle smile, holding a pooja thali. A kalash filled with rice was placed carefully at the doorstep.

“Roshni,” Reva said softly, “push the kalash with your right foot and enter the house.”

Roshni nodded, wiping her tears discreetly.

She gently pushed the kalash and stepped inside.

At that very moment, she wasn’t just entering a house—

she was stepping into a new life… a new identity… a new heart that would now belong to Aman Mehra.

Ahana placed a copper plate filled with red alta in front of her.

“With Aman’s support,” Reva instructed, “step into it.”

Aman instinctively held Roshni’s hand.

The moment their palms touched, Roshni felt a strange calm spread through her heart. She placed her foot into the plate, then stepped forward, leaving red footprints behind.

“It symbolizes Goddess Lakshmi entering the house,” Reva said warmly.

A soft smile finally appeared on Roshni’s face.

For the first time that night… she felt accepted.

Aman and Roshni bent down to take blessings.

Raghav and Reva placed their hands on their heads.

“Stay happy,” Raghav said. “And always stand by each other,” Reva added.

Reva kissed Roshni’s forehead gently.

“Welcome home, Roshni.”

Ahana hugged her tightly.

“So now,” she teased, “you’re officially my bhabhi. From today, Roshni Bhabhi, okay?”

Roshni smiled shyly.

“Okay, Di.”

The Room Where Hearts Would Finally Speak

Ahana led Roshni upstairs.

“This is your room… you and bhai’s room.”

Roshni froze for a second.

The room was beautifully decorated—soft lights, fresh flowers, neatly arranged furniture. Everything spoke of care… of love.

“This is for you,” Ahana said sincerely.

“For… me?” Roshni asked, confused.

“For accepting my brother,” Ahana replied softly.

“When you rejected him, he was completely shattered. But today… he’s happy. Because the woman he loves is finally his.”

Her words echoed in Roshni’s heart.

“This is a new beginning,” Ahana smiled.

“I hope you leave the past behind.”

With that, she left the room.

Roshni stood alone.

Her eyes fell on a framed photograph on the wall.

Aman.

She slowly walked towards it, lifting her hand to touch the frame—

but suddenly, the door opened.

She pulled her hand back instantly.

Aman stood there.

He had changed his clothes. His wet hair, calm eyes, and quiet presence made her heartbeat quicken.

Their eyes met.

Silence filled the room.

Aman took slow steps towards her.

Roshni’s breath hitched. She clutched her dupatta nervously, lowering her gaze.

He stood close.

Very close.

He studied her face—the innocence, the nervousness, the unspoken emotions hiding in her eyes.

“Roshni,” he asked gently,

“why do you look so nervous?”

She swallowed.

“No… nothing like that.”

He held her palm.

That single touch sent shivers through her entire body.

She didn’t pull away.

Instead, her heart raced faster.

Aman noticed her dark mehndi and smiled.

“Are you comfortable here?” he asked.

She nodded.

Aman - “Are you scared of me?”

She shook her head… then nodded… then shook it again.

Aman chuckled softly.

“You don’t have to be afraid. I’m not a ghost,” he teased.

“Go and freshen up.”

The First Confession

When Roshni returned, Aman was sitting on the bed, waiting.

She stood before him nervously.

“What… what should I do now?” she asked softly.

Aman looked confused.

“Do what?”

“Mummy said… whatever you say, I should do,” she murmured.

Aman stood up, shocked.

“She said that?”

Roshni nodded.

He stepped closer and gently cupped her cheek.

“Then you should’ve asked her what comes next,” he smiled.

“She said… you’ll tell me.”

Aman smiled—and kissed her forehead.

Roshni felt goosebumps. Her eyes closed automatically.

“I want to tell you something,” he said softly.

She opened her eyes.

Leaning closer, he whispered—

“I love you.”

Her eyes widened.

She looked down immediately, her cheeks burning.

Aman didn’t ask for an answer.

He already understood.

A Night of Unspoken Emotions

Roshni quickly picked up a pillow and moved towards the couch.

“Where are you going?” Aman asked.

“I’m tired. I’ll sleep here.”

“Why the couch?” he asked calmly.

“The bed is big enough.”

“I—”

“There’s no discussion,” he said firmly but gently.

“Come here and sleep.”

She obeyed instantly.

Aman smiled to himself.

Morning – A Married Woman

The next morning, Roshni helped Ahana in the kitchen.

At breakfast, everyone admired her.

Pink sari. Open hair. Mangalsutra. Sindoor.

Aman couldn’t stop staring.

“Is it necessary to go to office today?” Reva asked.

“It’s important,” Aman replied.

“But I’ll come back early.”

He looked at Roshni.

“Do you need anything?” she asked.

He shook his head.

(How could he tell her—in front of everyone—that he wanted to hug her before leaving?)

“Bye,” she said.

“Bye,” he replied softly.

The Storm Returns

In the afternoon, Roshni received a call from an unknown number.

“Hello?”

“Roshni… please forgive me.”

Her blood froze.

“Raj…?”

“How dare you call me?” she snapped.

“What new trap is this?”

“I realized your love only after losing you,” Raj said.

“You married so fast…”

“It wasn’t love,” Roshni replied sharp

ly.

“You deceived me.”

“Who asked you to trap me?” she demanded.

“Tell me the name.”

“Meet me,” he smirked.

“I’ll tell you.”

After a pause, she agreed.

At 9 PM, she went to the garden.

Raj stood there.

Before she could say anything, he pulled her into a hug.

She tried to push him away.

At that exact moment—

Aman arrived.

And what he saw…

Stopped his breath.

His eyes turned red.

His fists clenched.
